Are you an advocate for sustainability? Have your facilities or programs taken on new sustainability services? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you need to check out the Collegiate Sports Sustainability Summit, also known as CS3—you may even want to submit a presentation proposal!

The Summit brings sustainability-minded campus leaders together to discuss, share, and promote ways to best advocate for this important initiative. This event will offer engaging speakers, collaborative roundtables, and breakout sessions that allow participants to dive deeper into hot topics regarding sustainability.

The Collegiate Sports Sustainability Summit is entering its fifth year as an organized event, and this year marks the second that NIRSA has been involved in its organization. For 2015, CS3 is heading to the Midwest where it will be hosted by Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana on June 24-26.

Working in collegiate recreation opens students and professionals to unique opportunities for sustainability advocacy. More than ever before, college students are focused on a sustainable future. So rec employees are seeing increased efforts toward sustainability everywhere—from more sustainable materials and processes going into facility builds and renovations to recycling programs and water bottle filling stations becoming more prevalent.

This partnership event offers NIRSA members a chance to collaborate with other students and professionals working in many diverse areas of higher education who manage similar challenges, obstacles, and solutions.

In addition to registering to attend this event—registration will open in early January 2015—please consider sharing your expertise at the conference as well. Submit a presentation proposal today using our online submission form! The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 9.
