NIRSA and ACUI are teaming up for the 2014 Collegiate Marketing Institute—which is taking place at the Rosen Center in Orlando, Florida from November 5–7—and the Program Committee is thrilled to announce that William Sutton and Chuck Malkus have been selected to be the keynote speakers for the event.

Sutton, Founding Director of the University of South Florida’s Sport and Entertainment Management program, will open the Institute while Malkus, a nationally-acclaimed business strategist, will help close the 2014 Institute.

William Sutton

William Sutton will open the joint Institute by discussing his experiences in strategic marketing, revenue enhancement, and organizational chemistry. He is a professor at the University of South Florida and the co-creator of the innovative and groundbreaking Sport Sales Combine—a careers concept inspired by the NFL Draft Combine—which CNBC.com hailed as the “next great idea in sports marketing.”

William Sutton teaches courses in sport marketing, and sales and fundraising in sports.

Sutton has an extensive track record helping students start careers in the sports industry. This experience, along with his appointments at various universities over the years, makes Sutton the perfect choice to kick off an institute full of sessions focused on marketing your brand and forging new relationships with other departments and organizations on campus—like student unions (ACUI) and recreation staff (NIRSA).

Chuck Malkus

After a week of exciting sessions presented by NIRSA and ACUI members, as well as an engaging panel focused on the Mind Shift concept, attendees will be treated to a closing keynote address by business strategist Chuck Malkus.

Chuck Malkus has shared his expertise on national television, and is the best-selling author of The Ultimate Ponzi: The Scott Rothstein Story.

Malkus is considered an expert on public relations, branding, and reputation management—which are all incredibly relevant to campus marketing—and he has served as a board member for various non-profit organizations like Junior Achievement and NIRSA partner, the American Red Cross. At the 2014 Marketing Institute, he will share personal experiences illuminating the importance of strong business ethics and how individuals and organizations can grow their brands.
