We know our members are awesome and the association wants to deliver a newsletter that reflects that level of awesomeness.

So we are proud to announce that The October issue of the NIRSA Know was recently announced as the Gold Award winner of the TRENDS 2013 All Media Contest in the category of Monthly Newsletter or Communication.

Get the Know on the go, the NIRSA Know is mobile friendly.

Association TRENDS is the national newspaper for association executives and suppliers, whose focus is on spotlighting the latest news, information, and trends in association management for the professional staff of international, national, state, regional and local voluntary organizations; the TRENDS All Media Contest is an annual competition held exclusively for associations, recognizing the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year. The 2013 competition included a record number of entries (467) across 22 categories of association communications.

NIRSA will be honored at the 35th Annual Salute to Association Excellence, held February 20, 2014 at the Capital Hilton in Washington DC. Our association’s newsletter will be on display at the event, along with the other winners. As well as being honored at the Salute to Association Excellence, all of this year’s All-Media Contest winners will be featured in the January issue of TRENDS, and online.

Tell us what you think

When NIRSA launched its new website in February 2013, it also overhauled the NIRSA Know. The goal has been to use the association’s newsletter as a vehicle to highlight NIRSA members and better showcase who we are and what we do as leaders in collegiate recreation.

Now, in addition to bringing NIRSA members all of the updates from the association and opportunities to grow professionally, the Know offers members and subscribers feature articles that—through the experiences and perspectives of individual members—deliver a richer, more textured look at the various aspects of collegiate recreation.

From the member spotlight features to the “Where are they now?” series, NIRSA is excited to be showcasing the outstanding work of its members. And while we’ve been recognized by association peers, we really want to know what you, our readers, think about the new Know. Share your feedback with NIRSA’s Membership and Marketing Team, and help us keep the Association’s newsletter a valuable resource for leaders in collegiate recreation.
