Don’t miss out on early bird registration rates for the 2023 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo! Join your colleagues and friends in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from March 23–26!
We’re so excited to welcome our members and friends to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, where the three mighty rivers converge in power and beauty. Attending sessions and the expo at the LEED-Platinum-certified David L. Lawrence Convention Center will be more enjoyable than ever! The convention center’s floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the Allegheny River and flood the space with natural light. Step out onto the multiple outdoor decks to get some air or take a break upstairs in the rooftop garden.
Make sure to check out the conference schedule and plan your travel soon! Once registered attendees will receive secure links to make discounted reservations at one of the four official hotels of the conference. Rates range from $179-200+/night. Please remember that it is imperative that attendees stay in the official hotel block. Doing so ensures that we have the financial support necessary to keep registration rates low for future events. Please do your part as a NIRSA member and support the Association by staying in the hotel block.
Arrive early and take advantage of our exciting preconference workshops and activities! We’re bringing back some old favorites and some new preconference workshops this year, and we think there’s a little something for everyone.
For students, the J. Michael Dunn Student Professional Development Workshop will be returning. This full day preconference workshop offers students continued learning about NIRSA and the collegiate recreation profession. During this workshop, attendees can expect to explore various leadership topics while also learning about the values of the Association and how to build a strong network within the field. We’re also offering workshops for student staff development and women’s leadership as well as one focused on the skills necessary to develop in a middle manager role.
A new workshop offering this year is thanks to generous sponsorship by the NIRSA Foundation. “A Long Talk About the Uncomfortable Truth” is coming to NIRSA, offering an opportunity to engage in an anti-racism activation experience designed to expose participants to a level of truth about the duration, violence, and intentionality of the systems of oppression that have existed since the inception of the United States. This powerful workshop will be offered free of charge to the attendee, but there are only 100 registration slots available. We anticipate that more than 100 people will be interested in attending this workshop so selections will not be based on a first come, first serve but through a lottery process. The workshop registration application will be open on the registration form until Sunday, January 22. Check out the preconference workshops webpage for more details on this and other workshops! And make sure to visit the preconference activities webpage for information regarding facility tour and trip opportunities!
Don’t miss out on everything NIRSA 2023 has to offer—make sure to register soon to take advantage of early bird prices!
