NIRSA’s first responsibility is to our attendees, exhibitors, partners, and our team. We are 100% committed to protecting participants’ health and safety and to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Vaccination requirement
Central to our COVID-19 safety measures for the 2022 Annual Conference & Expo, NIRSA will require all attendees and exhibitors to demonstrate proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test (taken within 72 hours of check-in) at registration. We encourage all individuals to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination status including a booster.
Mask requirement
The State of Oregon and Multnomah County require the proper use of face masks in all indoor settings and for ground transportation. On January 14, 2022, the CDC updated their website to recommend KN95, KN94 and N95 masks. Cloth masks and gaiters will not be accepted as facial coverings within the NIRSA Annual Conference or Expo. Attendees will be asked to wear procedure (a.k.a. surgical) masks or KN95, KF94s, or N95 masks during official program events. Additional information can be found on the Oregon Health Authority Mask Recommendations & Requirements page.
Except for active eating and drinking, mask wearing will be enforced and participants who do not follow mask guidelines may be asked to leave.
Additional safety information
We are committed to transparent communications during the event. We’ll encourage all attendees to monitor @NIRSAlive social media channels, download the PheedLoop app to their mobile devices, and update the email address in your NIRSA profile.
If you feel sick or experience COVID-like symptoms while onsite in Portland, please reconsider your participation at the event.
NIRSA will continue to update its safety measures at in person events and provide updates on the COVID-19 Information page of our website as we prepare.
