Special Olympics is offering virtual youth leadership trainings and summits in the 2020-2021 year. Don’t be thrown off by the word “youth”—these trainings are designed for both high school and college-aged students with and without intellectual disabilities.
There are four trainings, which students can complete online at their own pace. The four trainings are no more than 30 minutes each and can be found here. Following the trainings, participants complete an exit ticket, which asks them to complete a brief survey about what they learned.
Once a student completes all four trainings, they can then attend a virtual summit with other students from across the country. These summits are designed to be celebratory and to connect students—there are also some special guests that will pop in during these celebrations.
The summits will take place on the following dates and can be accessed once the four trainings are finished:
- September 25, 2020
- January 15, 2021
- March 26, 2021
- June 25, 2021
