Presented by Cara Lucia, PhD, Associate Professor at Elon University and Mila Padgett, Director, Campus Recreation and Wellness at University of South Carolina Aiken, this session will explore the experiences of women who continue their professional trajectory in the collegiate recreation field. They will review a study that helped create space for women to share experiences regarding individual human capital, gender differences, and prejudice as they learn to work through the leadership labyrinth.
“For us to best support and develop men and women in the industry we need to understand experiences had by women in campus recreation,” say Cara and Mila. They add, “We can do this through continued research that studies the various intersections of identities that women bring to the campus recreation environment.”
Register for the NIRSA Summer of Learning to attend this webinar live or to watch the recording. The live webinar will take place June 24, 10:00am PT / 1:00pm ET.
