Virtual Roundtables for Campus Recreation
Since its inception in March 2020, the NIRSA Ideas in Motion series has hosted more than 17,000 participants. Thank you all so much for sharing your experience and great questions with each other over the past several months!
Starting in August, you’ll notice some small changes as NIRSA transitions Ideas in Motion to a sustainable program. Through the support of membership dues, we can continue to offer Ideas in Motion for Free to all members. This includes any staff member working at a NIRSA member institution. There will now be a small registration fee for non-member participants to access the roundtable sessions and recorded content. NIRSA Caucus discussions, and some additional sessions will continue to be free. Check the schedule below for the list of upcoming events and registration.
Another change you’ll notice is the new layout for the programming guide, providing you an at-a-glance view of upcoming sessions and available recordings. NIRSA will continue to provide the same Ideas in Motion session format that you’re used to in the coming months and beyond, including roundtables, educational deep-dives, caucuses and more. We greatly appreciate the support of NIRSA members to continue to offer this valuable virtual programming! If you have any questions, please let us know here.

With the ongoing presence of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever to make sure we stay connected. Attend an “Ideas in Motion” virtual roundtable. Share ideas with campus recreation professionals across a broad selection of focus areas.
These roundtables are conducted at the speed of social distancing. We might see a cat’s tail dancing in front of a web cam or a child asking about the status of their mashed potatoes. Join us in a forgiving environment to help advance health and wellbeing.
In addition, from time to time other roundtables may appear here that are not related to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. These may be about higher education as well as current events — such as racial tensions in the United States.
LGBTQ Caucus
Facilitated by Zack Sephton and Cindy Tse
This caucus is a part of NIRSA’s commitment to engaging in conversation and organizing action.
It is intended as a space for the LGBTQ community to come together.
If you have an idea or would like to facilitate a future caucus please let us know at nirsa@nirsa.org or reaching out to a member of the NIRSA Board of Directors.
Can’t attend a specific roundtable?
We record most roundtables and make them available after the event.
