What started as 11 schools convening about intramural activity on February 22, 1950 has become a worldwide phenomenon supporting the belief that recreational sports on campus matter. This original meeting established the National Intramural Association which would eventually become NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation.
With pride, we celebrate February 22 as NIRSA Recreational Sports & Fitness Day every year—and invite all schools around the world to join us! Thanks to more than 40 institutes, this year’s Rec Day (or in some cases Rec Week!) was a fantastic hit! Here are a few recaps from the Twittersphere and beyond.
