Many NIRSA member ask how they can get more involved with the Association and within the NIRSA Championship Series. I’m excited to say that the NIRSA Championship Series has the perfect opportunity for member institutions looking to get more involved: applications to host a regional basketball tournament are now open!
Hosting a NIRSA Champ Series event might require both time and resources, but it’s also an incredibly rewarding experience. Member institutions may use this opportunity to explore what capabilities their facilities have to host medium and large events as our regional tournaments range in size. Just like for flag football and soccer, many NIRSA regions host multiple regional basketball tournaments in hopes of serving students across the country.
“Hosting a basketball regional is an exciting way to promote your campus and facilities as well as engage your staff members, both professional and student, into the benefits of NIRSA and the Championship Series,” says Jeff Logsdon, Program Coordinator, Club Sports at the University of Cincinnati.
This is a huge step for the NIRSA Championship Series in aligning with NIRSA values of leadership and equity, diversity, and inclusion. Applications for hosting a site close Monday, June 10, so apply online today to serve your region and develop your staff!
