The NIRSA Triventure Institute provides in-depth information on focused education tracks: aquatics, facilities, fitness, and health and wellbeing. Attendees can attend sessions in any track. Additionally, Triventure attendees will be able to attend recreation facility tours, workout sessions, and networking socials with vendors and sponsor.

Presentation Proposals
The theme for the institute will be “Facing the Future Together.” This theme highlights the importance of collaboration, especially as recreation professionals tackle, the often unforeseen, challenges the future brings.

Lydie Gutfeld
2019 NIRSA Triventure Keynote Speaker
Lydie Gutfeld has been presenting for over 10 years on topics ranging from active aging, contracting, leadership, marketing and staff management. With over 25 years in the recreation, she brings an energetic and passionate view to the definition of leadership. She has worked for Beverly Hills, Culver City, Irvine and now works for the City of Mission Viejo where she is the Recreation and Community Services Manager responsible for Aquatics, Tennis, Recreation and fitness, Teen programs, afterschool programs, Special Events, Marketing and Staff Development. In May 2017, she completed the Masters in Public Administration Program at California State University Fullerton with a concentration in Human Resources. She currently serves on the CPRS State Board as President. In her spare time, Lydie runs a business where she is the Owner, Head Coach and Choreographer for Cheer Better United, a nationally ranked competitive cheer club in Orange County.

Don’t Let Tragedy Be Your Teacher
- Recognize the need for in depth Policies and Procedures, Emergency Action Plans and frequent, quality in‐service trainings based on an actual events.
- Asses managements responsibilities as part of the aquatic safety team.
- Identify specific tools in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding suite of programs that can be used by supervisors and trainers to set up, train for and manage a strong lifeguarding operation.
- Identify lessons learned in this fatal drowning.

- Demonstrate small group management with time management.

Reservations
You can make reservations online. Reservations need to be made no later than 5:00pm local time October 5, 2019 to confirm the discounted group rate.
Upon registration, NIRSA encourages all attendees to reserve their hotel accommodations within the NIRSA room block. NIRSA relies on strong room block usage to secure ample meeting space, increase negotiation leverage for future institutes, and offset event expenses.
Roommate matching will become available with the opening of registration.
