The response to the call for presenters for the 2015 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreation Sports Expo— which will be held at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas from March 30–April 2—was outstanding!

Ten micro session proposals, 35 round table proposals, and 246 education session presentation proposals were received. 137 qualified NIRSA volunteers were tasked with ranking the healthy assortment of presentation proposals, and each proposal was assessed by at least three reviewers.

Feedback from NIRSA 2014 attendees influenced the ed sessions chosen for the upcoming Annual Conference.

Reviewers ranked similar content with a goal of having a maximum of ten sessions per content area.

To date, approximately 150 educational sessions, roundtables, and meetings have been officially accepted. Selections were based on several factors, and chosen presentations will epitomize NIRSA’s core competencies and strategic values.

Factors in the selection process included overall ranking by the reviewing teams, topic demand from NIRSA 2014 attendees, the current industry trends, and a three-year retrospective on Annual Conference attendees’ job responsibilities.

Members who submitted proposals have been notified of their status, and those whose proposal was not accepted have been encouraged to submit for future Institutes or to local and regional opportunities.

With so many amazing proposals submitted, NIRSA 2015 is shaping up to be a great event! Thanks to all members who submitted a proposal.
