Networking is one of the biggest reasons NIRSA members attend conferences, and this year in Nashville we’re introducing a new way to facilitate networking among attendees: QR codes.

Unique QR codes, located on each conference badge, can easily be scanned by your smartphone with the right software. Guidebook, NIRSA’s free to download Annual Conference application, has a QR code reader built right in.

By scanning a colleague’s QR code, you’ll be taken to their public NIRSA profile.

Simply open the app, touch the scanner button, and point your phone’s camera at the code. The QR code will take you to the badge owner’s public profile on the NIRSA website, so that you can learn more about them and add them to your contact list.

In addition to helping you network with ease, your conference badge is your ticket to all events happening at the Annual Conference.

Badges are required for entrance to the Expo Hall, educational sessions, and free access the Gaylord Opryland’s shuttle, which runs between the hotel and downtown Nashville – a $20-per-day savings!

Be sure to review your profile’s privacy settings before conference!

In the few short weeks leading up to your trip to Nashville, please make sure to visit nirsa.me and update your profile, so your fellow attendees who scan your badge are able to view the most up-to-date and complete information about you.

You may also want to take a look at your privacy settings on your public profile, ensuring all the information you’d like to share is available to your peers.
