NIRSA is currently searching for candidates to fill the NIRSA Director and Alternate Director positions on the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) Board of Directors. CAS creates standards, guidelines, and self-assessment tools that improve the quality of programs and services in higher education. As a member association since 1981, CAS alongside NIRSA aims to foster and enhance student learning, development, and achievement through participation in recreation.
The available positions on the council fulfill vital roles for our Association and the collegiate recreation profession. The Director and Alternate Director, each of whom will serve a three-year term, are expected to attend each semi-annual meeting of the CAS Board of Directors, advocate for NIRSA and its initiatives, engage in the business of the council, and communicate the relevant interests and initiatives of CAS to NIRSA. Serving in one these positions will offer an exceptional leadership and professional development opportunity.
