Every year, NIRSA recognizes remarkable NIRSA member institution facilities with the honor of Outstanding Sport Facility Awards. This award recognizes the innovative designs of new, renovated, or expanded collegiate recreational facilities.
Facilities that apply must demonstrate excellence in a number of categories including functionality, sustainability, architectural design, and how well the facility meets its intended purpose. The Outstanding Sports Facilities Awards Committee looks for exceptional applications with a collaborative effort between the school and the architectural firm.
Awards will be presented at the 2017 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreation Sports Expo occurring February 21-24 in National Harbor, Maryland. Eligibility requirements and criteria are listed on the NIRSA website.
The application submission deadline is November 1.
