Are you interested in giving back to the Orlando community while attending the 2016 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo in Florida from April 3–6? If your answer is yes, you’re in luck! The NIRSA Community Service Project has been a wonderful tradition at the NIRSA Annual Conference for the past five years, and the 2016 event is taking place on Sunday April 3.

This year, NIRSA has partnered with the Community Food & Outreach Center in Orlando, a local organization dedicated to preventing homelessness and helping those in need fight hunger and overcome personal crisis. NIRSA volunteers will work in two primary locations: the Reduced Cost Grocery Program and the Thrift Store. Both projects reach the clients of the Community Food & Outreach Center who are living at 200% of the federal poverty level.

As a volunteer, you will help create a positive shopping experience by cleaning, organizing, and stocking shelves and racks in the 50,000+ square foot facility while interacting with shoppers. Unfortunately, this event has a maximum capacity of 100 participants due to limited space—so make sure to register today!

Registration for the 2016 NIRSA Community Service Project closes on February 17, which is also the last day to take advantage of early-bird pricing for NIRSA 2016. If you’ve already registered for NIRSA 2016, you can submit a registration addendum to add this meaningful preconference event to your Annual Conference experience.
