We’re thrilled to announce an open call for proposals for the 2025 NIRSA Conference & Campus Rec Expo taking place April 23–26 in Orlando, Florida! As NIRSA’s premier event, you can expect to see a busy schedule of events with unique programming rooted in providing learning opportunities through a variety of experiences.
We’re calling on our members and the greater campus rec community to share their ideas via educational sessions. Our concurrent educational sessions typically fall within three categories: engaging roundtable discussions where attendees are invited into conversation, panel sessions in which professionals share their insights with a brief presentation and audience Q&A, and general ed sessions which are the classic lecture style with time for questions at the end. We’ve also added another session format this year: two-hour workshops. These should create a space for in-depth interactive work with tangible takeaways.
With NIRSA’s core competencies in mind, we’re seeking proposals that cover a range of topics. Please help us curate a program that caters to your needs by submitting a proposal covering the topic areas you want to see at conference. Presenting doesn’t just support your own professional development; hearing about your work also benefits the campus rec community and inspires advancements in the field.
If you have an idea but aren’t sure how to put it together, check out the Presenter Information & Resources webpage of NIRSA Learning. There you’ll find a guide to writing strong learning outcomes, tips for creating an inclusive presentation, and a few sample proposals to review.
The NIRSA Conference & Campus Rec Expo has been an event for professionals to develop and maintain professional competencies while expanding and strengthening their networks since it’s inception. We’re looking forward to another year of doing so in Orlando and can’t wait to read what you’ve been working on!
Submit a proposal for a general education session, panel presentation, two-hour workshop, or roundtable by Monday, July 15.
Submit a proposal for a preconference workshop program by Wednesday, July 31.
Please consider submitting a proposal to make NIRSA 2025 the most memorable conference yet!
