We’re thrilled to announce an open call for proposals for the 2024 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo taking place April 17–20 in Phoenix, Arizona! The Annual Conference is NIRSA’s premier event featuring a variety of leaning experiences through educational session content, resume building, hiring meet-and-greets, and numerous opportunities for networking.
Our concurrent educational sessions fall within three categories: engaging roundtable discussions where attendees are invited into conversation, panel discussions in which experienced professionals share their insights with a presentation and Q&A session, and a classic presentation with time for questions at the end. In addition to educational sessions, we also offer specialized full-day and half-day preconference workshops or programs which take a deeper dive into specific topics. The topics for such sessions range from aquatics to small colleges and programs to outdoor programming to facility management and so much more all while touching on one or more of NIRSA’s core competencies!
Presenting at a NIRSA Annual Conference is an opportunity for personal professional development while simultaneously supporting the growth of attendees learning from your content. Common reasons for campus rec professionals to present at NIRSA include:
- Sharing recent findings in the advancement of the industry
- Networking with both early-career professionals and seasoned, mid-level professionals
- Sharing your engagement in the field with like-minded individuals
- Connecting with graduating students who will soon enter the field
- Showcasing your institution’s achievements
- Inspiring colleagues
The NIRSA Annual Conference was established as a supportive gathering of professionals in higher education to develop and maintain competencies in the field of campus recreation and wellbeing. Consider sharing your program expertise and new ideas with colleagues in Phoenix!
Submit a proposal for a general education session, panel presentation, or roundtable by Thursday, June 15.
Submit a proposal for a preconference workshop program by Monday, July 31.
We hope you’ll consider submitting a proposal to make NIRSA 2024 a conference to remember!
