The 20×30 Network recently joined with several related networks to form the Action Network for Equitable Wellbeing (ANEW).
Many NIRSA members were familiar with 20×30, and its aim to transform the lives of 20 million college students by 2030, either through their own participation in a face-to-face or virtual transformathon events, seeing them at NIRSA conferences, or seeing some of their work on NIRSA’s social media channels in the past.
ANEW builds on the foundation of 20×30 and related networks to more directly and holistically center their work at the intersections of wellbeing, education, and equity. The purpose of this network is to facilitate people working together to accelerate transformational change in higher education settings to:
- Improve student wellbeing now to improve lives for a lifetime
- Remove wellbeing related barriers to learning and academic achievement
- Create equitable higher education conditions for all students to thrive and flourish
At its core, ANEW is a community of changemaking individuals, institutions of higher education, and organizations. It aims to unite people who are determined to disrupt the status quo and are committed to doing the hard work of catalyzing the transformative change that is necessary to enable all college students to thrive and flourish. It has a critical focus on improving outcomes for students who are part of historically marginalized groups.
Anyone can join ANEW. There is no financial cost to join. There are also multiple ways to get involved depending on how much capacity an individual has at a given time.
