Many members of our NIRSA family are still feeling the effects of the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, because of the amazing, undeterred generosity of NIRSA Foundation donors, unprecedented support has been directed towards NIRSA members and programs via the Mission Advancement Fund.
To date, the NIRSA Foundation’s Mission Advancement Fund has funded:
- 270+ membership waivers
- NIRSA’s Climate Study to assess the Association’s culture, climate and structures around justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Health and wellbeing resources and initiatives like the Wellbeing Briefing
- Research related to the field of collegiate recreation
- Travel grants to attend the NIRSA Annual Conference
Access to outstanding NIRSA resources and programs continues to be vital to campus recreation professionals like you and me as we continue to offer some of the best and most impactful programming on campuses across Canada and the United States.
Join a global generosity movement this #GivingTuesday
#GivingTuesday is a movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world. This movement reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. The NIRSA Foundation is counted among a global network, collaborating to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give. This #GivingTuesday, November 30, I ask that you join me and the other members of the NIRSA Foundation Board of Directors in making a gift to the Mission Advancement Fund, or to the dedicated fund that inspires you most.
All gifts are greatly appreciated and impact the NIRSA family.
Hughes Group Architects will match #GivingTuesday donations
All gifts made on #GivingTuesday will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2,500, by Hughes Group Architects—our match challenge partners in the #GivingTuesday movement since 2016.
The size of your gift does not matter! Whatever you can give helps the philanthropic arm of the Association to support the NIRSA family.
“Receiving the membership waiver made an incredible impact on me that I didn’t even realize at first. Logistically, this waiver provided me the opportunity to serve on NIRSA committees and on the Champ Series Esports Task Force, but from a personal perspective, this waiver has given me the opportunity to provide a voice to women and the LGBTQ+ community through my work in esports. I like to think that this waiver was a door opening up for myself and allowing me to hold the door open for people to join our mission of inclusion and creating a safe space for all. Mission Advancement gifts from this extraordinary community made this possible for me and potentially, made someone feel seen in the world of recreation and wellness.
– Cybbi Barton, University of Michigan Program Manager – Club Sports & Esports
Please join us on #GivingTuesday to both celebrate NIRSA members and prepare for the future.
