The 2021-2022 Member Network is excited to welcome Morgyn Felty, Fitness & Aquatics Graduate Assistant at South Dakota State University as the new Region V Student Leader. Morgyn is originally from Farmington, Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Human Resources Management and Leadership Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Region V of NIRSA serves schools located in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.
As part of her role on the Member Network, Morgyn will also assume a seat on NIRSA’s Student Leadership Team, a group of dedicated student members committed to collaboration, student advocacy, and leadership in the field of recreational sports. Student members are encouraged to contact Regional Student Leaders with questions, suggestions, and ideas.
Morgyn’s entry into collegiate recreation started during her freshman year, when she worked as a student employee in several program areas across Eau Claire’s Campus Recreation Department. “My experiences and involvement as a student employee pushed me to pursue a master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Administration at SDSU,” says Morgyn.
“As the Region V Student Leader, I want to increase student involvement and engagement within NIRSA and play an active role in educating students about the many opportunities provided by NIRSA membership,” Morgyn says. “Additionally, I want to share my passion for collegiate recreation and let students know how NIRSA can help further their education and knowledge of the industry,” she adds.
Congratulations to outgoing Student Rep Bryce Muller
In addition to welcoming Morgyn to the Member Network, NIRSA would also like to also thank Bryce Muller for his service as the Region V Student Leader to date. Bryce—who had been the Graduate Assistant for Sports Programs at the University of Nebraska—recently accepted a full-time role as a Coordinator of Intramural Sports and Community Programs at Grand Valley State University (his alma mater).
Congratulations to Bryce on his full-time professional appointment and thank you for your service to NIRSA.
