Last summer, NIRSA’s Health & Wellbeing Task Force launched a wellbeing survey. After analyzing the results, the task force began to form several work teams to help meet the needs identified by members.
One area of need noted by members was around resources. To this end, the Member Resource Development workgroup was created. They work in close conjunction with the Task Force to help communicate and develop resources that support the education and development of NIRSA members as it relates to integrated wellbeing.
You may have seen some of their work already; they recently shared resources in the articles, “Helping students turn obstacles into opportunities for wellbeing” and “An established culture of wellbeing paves the way during the pandemic.”
On Wednesday, October 14 they launched a significant resource straight to your inboxes – the first issue of the NIRSA Wellbeing Briefing.
This email briefing is aimed to minimize information overload and reduce the research rabbit hole that it can be so easy to find yourself in when it comes to building a culture of wellbeing on your campus.
The goals of this digest are to communicate collective work in the wellbeing field; share research; connect members to existing wellbeing resources, tools, and surveys; and communicate training and development opportunities in the wellbeing space.
The first issues highlighted several articles, success stories, resources (upcoming and recently released), and some ideas of how to move all of this into action.
The team is always looking for more help—get in touch with one of the Member Resource Development Team members if you’d like to play a role in bringing wellbeing resources to the NIRSA membership!
