Guess what’s back? With the 2020 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo heading to a warm location this year, we celebrate the return of the NIRSA Foundation Golf Tournament, presented by PLAE! The tournament will take place on Saturday, April 18 and registration is open!

This event is always one of my favorite parts of our annual conference. I can recall my first NIRSA golf experience in 1999 on the snowy fairways of Milwaukee, WI—what a memory! I can almost guarantee we’ll have much better weather for this year’s event in Phoenix. The friendships and networking that I’ve experienced through playing in this event many times has built a lifetime of connections for me.

This fun-filled event is for golfers of all skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced golfer who loves that pristine drive down the middle of the fairway, or someone with a little less experience who just likes to drive the golf cart and have fun with friends, this event is certain to be one of a number of great memories you take away from the 2020 NIRSA Annual Conference.

This year’s golf registration includes a round of golf at the remarkable Raven Phoenix Golf Club, transportation to and from the convention center, breakfast, lunch, a quarter-zip pullover, and a bag of golf swag! For those who don’t want to bring their golf clubs to the conference, the Raven Golf Club does have rental sets of clubs available (while supplies last). In order to receive your quarter-zip pullover, you must register for the tournament by  Wednesday, March 18.

Players can either register as an individual and get paired up with other NIRSA professionals, sponsors, or exhibitors. Players can also request specific partners they want to play with as a part of their team registration. The event will be a four-person scramble format with multiple flights. The tournament includes some fun games for golfers to participate in—some of which may not even involve actual golf skills! Register today!

I encourage you and any other conference attendees to join us in “Playing it Foreward” at this premiere fundraising event for the NIRSA Foundation—participate in this exciting, preconference event on April 18. See you on the first tee!
