There will be something for everyone to kick off the 2020 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo! Attendees will have unique opportunities to network and engage with other colleagues in the Association while learning about the “Power of Data,” how to start a campus recreation program, what it takes to be a Championship Series volunteer, and how to create a safe and inclusive environment.
Saturday, April 18 is going to be chock-full of education and networking opportunities for those who come early and register for one of the many preconference trips or workshops. In addition to the educational workshops on Saturday, attendees can also choose to participate in one of two facility tours, a hike on Camelback Mountain, or to be part of the return of the NIRSA Foundation Golf Tournament. The complete list of preconference opportunities is available on the NIRSA website.
In lieu of a preconference opportunity, directors and senior leaders in their rec department will have an opportunity to register for a morning workshop that will take place on the last day of NIRSA 2020. More information about this workshop will be available soon.
The Opening General Session officially kicks off the conference at 5:00pm on Saturday afternoon with some exciting changes. Because the Opening Session is the most highly attended event during the conference, NIRSA will be recognizing and presenting the Honor Award at this time. The opening session will also include keynote speaker Michelle Poler, who will share her message of living with courage, finding your authenticity, and embracing your growth path.
The overall conference schedule is a great planning guide for NIRSA 2020 as it gives potential attendees an overview of the event. Additionally, the NIRSA 2020 FAQs should answer most of your questions.
“Rise and Shine” this coming April by learning, networking, and exploring Phoenix before the official start of the conference with one of the many preconference offerings! Conference registration opens Wednesday, December 4.
