#RecChat returns to cover a topic that is sure to engage programs large, small, and in between: risk management. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan for risk management since a variety of factors make risk management needs vary from program to program. Given this, #RecChat is providing anyone interested with an opportunity to share how they’re handling risk management on their campus.
Whether you’re a student or a professional, you’re welcome to join this risk management conversation on October 23 at 3:00pm EST. #RecChat participants will be able to share, listen, and engage with other NIRSA members about topics related to risk management via both Twitter and Instagram. This is not only a wonderful opportunity to learn what others in the field are doing, but also to share ideas and recommendations with others to help their programs improve.
While members will have the opportunity to ask questions, prompts will also be provided to get the conversation started. Members will be asked to share—among many potential topics—information about their program’s EAP, the requirements of professional and student staff, equipment use as it relates to risk management, drills or risk management courses provided on campus for staff, and program-specific risk management requirements.
There will be several ways to engage with the conversation. Leading up to the chat there will be polls on Twitter and Instagram to gauge how NIRSA members and their institutions currently handle risk management. During the discussion, #RecChat will send out various risk and crisis management resources for programs to save and utilize on campus.
By tweeting and chatting with us on Twitter and Instagram you’ll be able to engage in the conversation and, with NIRSA members across the country, create both learning and networking opportunities in a virtual space. Be sure to mark your calendars and follow #RecChat on both Twitter and Instagram in these days leading up to the conversation so you don’t miss a minute of the discussion on October 23.
