We’re looking for great advice to share with NIRSA 2020 attendees who want to secure a career within campus recreation. The Career Services Center continues to boast standing room only for its half-hour Career Building Mini-Sessions. These sessions are a great place to get your feet wet as a presenter and they don’t have to be specific to campus rec. Their purpose is to help equip potential candidates with soft skills as they move into any career.
Past presentations have focused on topics like negotiating salary and benefits with an employer, building strong working relationships with coworkers, and navigating social networking as an introvert. Take a look at the NIRSA 2020 presenter webpage to get an idea of the overarching theme of the 2020 educational content, and be sure to submit your presentation proposal for a Career Building Mini-Session by Monday, September 9!
In addition to Career Building Mini-Sessions, NIRSA 2020 is also still accepting proposals for Research Sessions, Poster Presentations, and Fitness Forum sessions. The deadline for these submission types is September 9 as well. Visit NIRSA 2020 to learn more.
