The NIRSA Assembly is looking forward to the 2019 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo taking place in Boston in just a few short weeks! One of the Assembly’s focal points this year is engaging the NIRSA membership on how to best tell our story on campus to higher education administration. The Assembly is also involved with research and discussions surrounding the topics of changing student demographics and youth sport engagement. At NIRSA 2019, the Assembly will be hosting a panel titled “Tell Our Story. Sell Our Impact. Share Our Vision.” It will focus on discussing strategies and communication methods with key administrators as well as collegiate recreation’s prospects in the higher education arena.
During the panel, attendees will:
- Gain a better understanding of how to communicate with upper-level management and tell our story within their department and university.
- Learn how to leverage data and statistics to sell our impact on campus to higher-level administration.
- Find at least one way to share our vision of collegiate recreation’s pivotal role on campuses over the next 5-10 years.

The Assembly has prepared a course of questions to allow our panelists to speak freely about their extensive experiences with higher education administration and their vision for how telling our story will evolve in the future. Each panelist will bring a unique perspective that you won’t want to miss as we continue to work on telling our recreation story on our campuses! The session is scheduled for Tuesday, February 19 from 10:30am-11:30am.
