The 2017 NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Institute is a can’t-miss opportunity to learn, explore, and network with sport club experts from across North America and representatives from various Sport Governing Bodies. The event is taking place in Virginia Beach, Virginia from June 21–23. What you’ll learn at this institute will undoubtedly help you build the programming on your campus. Registration for this institute is now open!

The feedback NIRSA received from the 2015 institute was fantastic! “Being surrounded solely by people that do exactly what I do and understand the unique challenges of club sports was refreshing,” says Elise Harvey, Senior Coordinator for Competitive Sports at the University of Georgia. “It was invigorating to share experiences and ideas for moving our programs forward.”

Mario Rios—Assistant Director, Sport Clubs at Texas State University—goes on to say that “the Sport Club Institute is a great way to learn about the profession we love and network with colleagues and friends to make sport clubs better on our campuses. The Institute is great for young and experienced professionals and would be great for students to see what sport clubs have in store.”

The institute’s Program Committee, chaired by Mandy Madden—Assistant Director of Sport Clubs at the University of Notre Dame—is working hard to make this year’s institute the best yet! The institute will feature educational sessions that examine new ideas and insights into how to successfully develop, manage, and grow collegiate sport clubs.

Also, several sport governing bodies will take part in roundtables to give attendees an opportunity to network and learn how they can help their sport clubs on campus. Additionally, attendees can sign up for preconference activities, which are offered on Tuesday, June 20. Activities include a visit to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center and the Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium.

And if you’re interested in sharing your sport club’s knowledge and expertise, the Program Committee is still accepting presentation proposals. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 1. Take advantage of this amazing opportunity to join colleagues to talk about all things sport club—register for this institute today!
