Help celebrate NIRSA’s 67th birthday and participate in the 2017 National Recreational Sports & Fitness Day, or Rec Day 2017! Every year, NIRSA members go all out—and this year will be no exception. NIRSA and Club Colors have teamed up to offer members and campuses the opportunity to purchase customized Rec Day 2017 T-shirts! T-shirts are available for order on the Rec Day page of the NIRSA website.
Rec Day festivities get more and more elaborate every year—sometimes stretching on for a whole week—as enthusiastic NIRSA institutions and members promote fun activities like Zumba dance parties and games of flag football or soccer. Do your best to get folks on your campus moving in some fantastic custom Rec Day T-shirts!
NIRSA was founded by Dr. William Wasson on February 22, 1950 when he brought 20 intramural directors from 11 Historically Black Colleges and Universities together to share his research on collegiate recreation. NIRSA members all over the world now celebrate this founding date as Rec Day.
The Association wants to celebrate not only Rec Day 2017, but the many members who make NIRSA and the entire collegiate recreation field fantastic. So consider emailing your Rec Day photos of participating in fun activities—maybe while wearing your custom T-shirt—to NIRSA Communications Coordinator Nazifa Islam.
