Forget about walking the walk—are you prepared to take the plunge to show the depths of your love and support for NIRSA? Register today for the 2017 NIRSA Foundation Mark Fletcher Potomac Plunge and get ready to chill out with fellow NIRSA members while sharing your passion for the Association!
Presented by Cannon Design, this event will take place at 7:00am on Friday, February 24, the final day of the 2017 NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec and Wellness Expo.
The first 75 Potomac plungers who register—either online or onsite at the Annual Conference—will receive a commemorative towel donated by Texon Towel & Supply. The plunge will take place a short (ten-minute) walk from the Gaylord National, the site of the 2017 Annual Conference, and plungers are encouraged to bring your cheering section! Maps will be available at the Foundation Table.
Two EMTs will be onsite, and four divers from one of the local Host Committee Schools will be helping plungers from the icy water. Hand warmers, towels, and hot coffee provided by Dunkin Donuts will be at the ready for the plungers. Weather permitting, shuttles will deliver the plungers back to the Gaylord National and to their hot showers!
Your participation will help the NIRSA Foundation support the collegiate recreation field by providing NIRSA members with scholarships, research, and opportunities for personal and professional development.

Don’t want to take the plunge or maybe you’ll not be attending NIRSA 2017? Support one of the brave plungers by making a donation in his or her name at the NIRSA Foundation Table or online (be sure to elect the donation as a tribute and to write Potomac Plunge after the person’s name).
The top three fundraising plungers will win a special prize and be recognized at the conference for their fearlessness! Will someone from your school take home the top spot?
