The 2017 NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Institute is heading to Virginia Beach, VA from June 21–23! The institute will be invaluable to all recreation professionals, student leaders, and vendors. Educational sessions and roundtable discussions will be led by experts in the field with roundtable discussions also including representatives from national and sport governing bodies. The institute is all about learning and sharing new ideas and insights regarding how to successfully develop, manage, and improve collegiate sport clubs.
This institute is a wonderful chance to learn and network with sport club professionals from across North America. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain more knowledge on how to better the sport club programs at your institution—registration for this event will open in early 2017.
The topic areas, and their respective sub-topics, for this institute will be the following:
- Risk and Safety Management: Athletic training/sports medicine, concussion education & management, hazing prevention, alcohol education & policies, and travel/lodging policies
- Student Development: Officer development, leadership education, councils/executive boards, and student staff supervisors
- Event Management: Facility usage/agreements, insurance, marketing and publicity, and staff supervision
- Financial Management: Budgeting, fundraising, allocations, and coach stipends
- Program Administration: Coach/advisor involvement, assessment, alumni relations, tiers, point systems, recruitment, and retention
The NIRSA Collegiate Sport Club Institute Committee would like you to share your knowledge and ideas with your peers! They invite you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2017 Institute!
