Are you starting to build or renovate a rec facility, or do you manage and operate a facility? If so, you’ll want to be in Tempe, Arizona from October 19-21 for the 2016 NIRSA Recreation Facilities Institute presented by Mondo!
There are a lot of good reasons to attend the Facilities Institute—everything from in-depth educational sessions and roundtables to interacting with exhibitors and colleagues at the Networking Social & Expo—but the most popular activities are the facility tours. The Facilities Institute Committee is pleased to bring you an outstanding schedule of tours for the 2016 event! The Facilities Institute offers two half-day tours included in the cost of registration, and a full preconference day of tours can be added for a small additional cost.
The preconference tour on Tuesday, October 18, will embody this year’s theme, “Building Sustainable Communities.” It will take attendees all the way to Tucson to explore the 155-acre Kino Sport Complex and the University of Arizona’s LEED Platinum facility. The tour will also include a panel session on sustainability techniques and trends.
The two half-day tours on Wednesday, October 19 and Friday, October 21 will stick around the Phoenix/Tempe area, and attendees will have the opportunity to tour six facilities! Attendees will learn firsthand how Arizona State University manages four integrated facilities on each of their campuses; will receive an eye-opening experience at Ability360, one of two facilities in the US that specifically serves people with disabilities within adaptive sports and recreation; and marvel at the unique retractable roof and field of the University of Phoenix Stadium! For more information on the facilities and tour schedule check out the NIRSA website.
If you haven’t registered for the 2016 NIRSA Facilities Institute yet, circle September 7 on your calendar—that is the final day for early bird registration discounts. Or, even better, complete your registration today!
