Planning for the 2015 Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference is in full swing, and Committee members are excited to return to the University of Central Florida’s campus in Orlando from February 19–21!

The ERSL Conference is, according to Program Committee Chair Ashley Dent, “one of the most affordable yet content rich conferences across the country. It embodies the true NIRSA spirit of friendship, fellowship and forward thinking.” Co-Chair Jackie McCarty adds that the conference is “a chance to interact with people you normally wouldn’t get the opportunity to.”

The ERSL Conference strives to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in the dynamic field of collegiate recreation.

The goal of the conference is to provide young people with the skills necessary for them to have meaningful careers in the field of collegiate recreation. Through networking opportunities, resume critiquing, mock interviews, and educational sessions, young leaders gain perspective, resources, and knowledge on how to attain their career goals.

Committee members work hard to create a high quality, well-rounded program, but they need your help to find session proposals that will aid attendees in navigating the challenges surrounding getting a graduate assistantship or first-time professional position. Be a part of this rewarding process and submit a presentation proposal before November 10!

All presenters must hold current professional, life professional, emeritus, student, or associate NIRSA Member status from the time they submit their presentation proposal through the ERSL Conference. If you’re not a NIRSA member and would like to submit a proposal, join NIRSA today.

All confirmed lead presenters and co-presenters will need to register for the event before the first day of the conference. Students and professionals alike are encouraged to share their expertise, and should keep in mind that presentation proposals need to align with NIRSA’s eight core competencies.

By presenting at the 2015 ERSL Conference, you will also contribute to your own professional development since presenters qualify for Professional Involvement Credits (PICs), which can be applied to your Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals renewal application.

Don’t miss out on this great professional development opportunity! Registration is currently open for this event; register before Monday, December 1 to receive best pricing.

We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
