NIRSA, in addition to offering numerous professional development opportunities to its members, supports research that advances the collegiate recreation field.

The role of the NIRSA Research and Assessment Committee is to help foster an Association-culture that values collegiate recreation research and assessment.

One assessment that NIRSA conducts every three years is a research survey exploring compensation levels for collegiate recreation professionals. The NIRSA Salary Survey is a powerful resource that institutions can use to evaluate their own employee pay.

The NIRSA Salary Survey provides valuable insight into the collegiate recreation profession.

With the compiled data, salaries can be broken down and compared by position, university size, employee experience, and other quantifiable factors. The survey informs institutions about contemporary salary ranges and so helps them evaluate staff salaries.

In the first half of October, every director of a NIRSA member institution will be emailed an invitation to participate in the 2014 Salary Survey. We urge all NIRSA Institutions to participate since their involvement is crucial to the Salary Survey’s overall success and value.

The results of the 2014 NIRSA Salary Survey will be made available to all NIRSA members in the Spring of 2015.
