If you haven’t registered for the 2014 NIRSA Intramural Sports Institute yet, you’re in luck!
The early bird deadline has been extended through Tuesday, May 13; register today for best pricing!
The Institute, being held June 10-12 in Oklahoma City, will be sure to elevate your game! In addition to the 13 educational sessions, officiating panel, two socials, t-shirt exchange, and closing roundtable session, the institute is also offering a preconference facility tour of the University of Oklahoma.

This tour will not only highlight Huston Huffman Fitness Center, but it will also include time to do a self-guided tour of campus, along with tours of the Gaylord Family—Oklahoma Memorial Stadium football field and the Lloyd Noble Center basketball arena. With lunch included, this is a great way to kick off the Institute and start networking with colleagues.
Why are facility tours so important?
Seeing the different amenities each facility offers provides an opportunity to experience new ideas first hand and take pictures to bring back to my department. This is especially beneficial for schools considering, or in the process of, a building project or renovation/expansion.
– John Rosick, Assistant Director of Intramurals, Grand Valley State University
Even without renovations or new construction, little things such as signage, equipment, scoreboards, fencing, and playing surfaces (rubber, wood, turf, or natural grass) can all be considered to enhance our own campus intramural programs. The tours can also help to look at storage spaces, inventory, laundry services, and other things that may not necessarily highlight a facility/field, but has a major impact on day to day operations.
– Kevin George, Assistant Director of Intramurals & Facilities, Rowan University
