NIRSA Services Corporation (NSC), the entrepreneurial component of NIRSA, is governed by a seven member board who also oversees the NIRSA Championship Series.

To ensure continuity on the board, members’ terms overlap (for example, two members have terms from 2011-2014 and two have terms from 2012-2015).

The NIRSA Board of Directors, who acts on behalf of NIRSA as the sole shareholder of NSC, recently elected John Campbell, Executive Director of Recreation, Unions, and Bookstores at University of California–Davis, and Stuart Halsall, Associate Vice Chancellor of Athletics and Recreation at University of Denver, for three-year terms on the NSC board.

John, who served as Board member from 2011-2014, will be beginning his second term; the 2015-2018 term will be Stuart’s first. Both John and Stuart have proven successful in bringing brands to campus in order to engage with students in an authentic and meaningful way, and the whole of NIRSA will benefit greatly from their experience.

Another leadership position for the NSC was recently filled: the NIRSA Championship Series Vice-Chair, which will be announced in the April NIRSA Championship Series blog from current NIRSA Championship Series Committee Chair, Jonathan Elliot. This three-year position rotates through the Vice-Char, Second Vice-Chair, and Chair positions.

Representative of our member-driven association, NSC Directors are solicited, along with other association leadership opportunities, through an open call to all members. Applicants are evaluated based on NIRSA Services Corporation Board criteria and current strategic objectives of NSC. An Annual Shareholder meeting is held where the NIRSA Board, acting on behalf of NIRSA, elects the Directors.
