NIRSA and the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) are committed to cooperation in expanding education and training opportunities for our respective members who study and work in the field of outdoor recreation and education.

NIRSA and AORE are excited to continue their partnership.

AORE is the premier association in outdoor recreation and education. AORE provides opportunities for professionals and students in outdoor recreation and education to exchange information, promote the preservation and conservation of the natural environment, and address issues common to college, university, community, military, and other not-for-profit outdoor recreation and education programs—all of which strongly complements NIRSA’s six Strategic Values.

Since 2007, NIRSA and AORE have had a reciprocal agreement designed to foster education and content sharing among outdoor recreation professionals. Each organization offers the other organization the following:

  • Member rates to the Annual Conference
  • Consideration as a member for presentations at Annual Conferences (subject to program committee approval)
  • Opportunity for roundtable discussion at Annual Conferences (subject to program committee approval)
  • Both organizations have the opportunity to post jobs on Bluefish at member rates

At the 2014 NIRSA Annual Conference, join us for the session “AORE and NIRSA: Onsite Meeting of the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education” to engage in a dialogue regarding the state of the industry of outdoor recreation and education including information sharing, insight, and future action.

Outdoor recreation offers an evolving slate of opportunities for health and wellbeing.

The 2014 AORE National Conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, November 12-14 and will be co-located with the NIRSA Region VI Conference at the Hilton Hotel and Executive Towers. For information on registration discounts, visit NIRSA’s discounts and rewards page.

We look forward to continuing to work closely with AORE to explore opportunities to collaborate in multiple capacities—just one of the many ways NIRSA is working to holistically inspire healthy people and communities.
