At the request of NIRSA members, the Member Network and NIRSA Headquarters have been working with local leaders to develop the new provincial and state NIRSA webpages!
You can now engage locally—by viewing upcoming events in your area, utilizing the contact information of your Provincial or State Director and Provincial or State Student Leader, or networking with other members in your area—via one convenient channel.
To navigate to your province’s or state’s page, simply enter www.nirsa.org/STATE (for example, www.nirsa.org/nevada) or, once on the NIRSA website, go to CONNECT > REGIONAL, STATE & PROVINCIAL NETWORKS > select your Region; once on your region’s page, you can select your province or state from under the map on the right hand side.

If you haven’t had much local involvement before—or if you’re just seeking an easier way to continue your engagement at the state-level—this is certainly a springboard worth checking out.
Caroline Dotts, Assistant Director of Fitness at Georgia State University and past NIRSA Foundation scholarship recipient, may have discussed it best when she noted, in a recent installation of the “Where are they now” article series, “It’s the state, provincial, and local levels of involvement that are critical in one’s NIRSA development. To work alongside of others at different schools in your state is priceless. You get to know them on a more personal level…. You work with them behind the scenes at the state conferences and develop friendships. [And] it can open more doors for you at the next levels!”
Check out the provincial and state pages today, and move one step closer to furthering your connections with local colleagues!
