NIRSA members are renowned for their dedication to making collegiate recreation an invaluable resource at institutions of higher learning.

Serving on a NIRSA Committee or Work Team is a great way to give back to the Association, advance your expertise in a particular topic, and network with colleagues from all over North America.

NIRSA currently welcomes members to apply for an extensive range of NIRSA volunteer opportunities. Whether you’re a student or an experienced professional, there’s a place for your talents.

Committees and Work Teams

To apply to serve on a NIRSA, NIRSA Foundation, or NIRSA Championship Series Committee or Work Team for 2014-2015, complete a NIRSA Committee and Work Team Application (formerly the NIRSA Committee Preference Form), on which up to three areas of interest can be indicated. The full listing of committee and work team opportunities is available to view on the NIRSA website. Applications are due by December 15, 2013.

Committee appointments will be made in March and announced in advance of the 2014 NIRSA Annual Conference & Expo in Nashville.

Leadership positions

In addition to committee and work team volunteer positions, there are a number of leadership positions open to NIRSA members. Appointment to a NIRSA leadership position is an honor, a privilege, and a tremendous opportunity. With each position comes a responsibility to fulfill duties and obligations in the highest professional manner, while upholding the mission, goals, objectives, and values of the Association.

Applications are currently being accepted through January 15, 2014, to serve in the following NIRSA leadership capacities:

  • NIRSA Foundation Board (1 position)
  • NIRSA Services Corporation (NSC) Board (2 positions)
  • Recreational Sports Journal Editorial Board (several positions)
  • NIRSA Championship Series Committee Chair (1 position)
  • 2016 Annual Conference Program Committee Chair (1 position)
