Registration for the 2014 Annual Conference is now open!

We can’t wait to see you April 23-26 in Nashville as we enact this year’s theme of “Harmonizing Our Values,” focusing on NIRSA’s strategic values.

The NIRSA website has been updated to reflect the outstanding lineup of speakers, sessions, and exciting preconference events, trips, and workshops set for the 2014 event. Be there to join dedicated professionals as they share best practices and new techniques to help you better serve your campus community. The Recreational Sports Expo grand opening will be Wednesday, April 23, immediately following the opening session. The Expo is set to bring you hands-on interaction with the latest and greatest in fitness equipment, programming, technologies, and so much more.

We can’t wait to see you in Nashville for NIRSA 2014!

The 2014 Host and Program Committees have put together an all-star lineup of preconference activities and preconference workshops. We hope you will consider joining us early on the 23rd for one of the great opportunities planned. Space is limited for several of the pre-conference trips and workshops, so be sure to register early and guarantee your spot.

The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center is the hotel and meeting location, all in one! Once you register for conference you will be provided with a link to directly book your reservation at the NIRSA rate of $199 (single through triple occupancy) and $219 (quad occupancy) plus tax. This rate includes free wi-fi, free access to fitness center and all three pools, in room beverages and a daily newspaper. In addition, this NIRSA rate will allow you to ride the Wildhorse shuttle for FREE to downtown Nashville and back during operating hours (must be wearing badge).

Want help getting funds for conference?

As many members apply for funding from their departments and supervisors in order to attend our NIRSA Annual Conference, we want to be there are resources in place to facilitate this process. NIRSA members’ schedules are packed with commitments enacting our values, and it can be tough to add even one more thing to the to-do list. This is why NIRSA is providing sample letters geared towards both students and professionals. Simply fill in your personal information, expand where/if necessary, and submit your proposal. It’s just one more reason to join us in Nashville!

And remember—early bird pricing for NIRSA 2014 ends on March 12, 2014. Be sure to register before then for the best pricing.

Whether Nashville will be your first or your fortieth NIRSA conference, we hope you’ll join us in “harmonizing our values” and furthering NIRSA’s vision of inspiring healthy people and healthy communities.

Registration Confirmation Email Error

Many NIRSA members (and even some non-members) received a bit of a scare on Halloween. While we were testing a new automated process for our conference registration confirmation emails, a human error triggered the mistaken delivery of conference registration confirmations to individuals who were not registered for NIRSA 2014. Persons who accidentally received this message were sent a follow up correction email shortly after. If you have questions about either one of these emails, please don’t hesitate to contact NIRSA Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications Simon Bravo.
