With the passing of the Virginia Graham Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, the national increase in destination/recreational tourism, and an increased presence in the media of world-class swimmers, people are paying more attention than ever to water-related sports and activities. The Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification program creates better aquatic operators, who in turn make safer and increasingly efficient programs for aquatic venues.

Whether you’re already in Denver, or traveling there for NIRSA Triventure, be sure not to miss the AFO course.
If you work in an aquatic facility, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to attend the AFO course, which is conveniently scheduled for the two days before the 2013 NIRSA Aquatic Institute, a part of NIRSA Triventure. Those who have already registered for the Triventure are encouraged to consider adding the preconference AFO training course to their trip; however, you do not need to attend the Triventure to attend the AFO course. The AFO training and certification will be held on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15 from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day at the Magnolia Hotel in downtown Denver. To register, click here.
Developed by the National Recreation and Park Association, the AFO program is fast becoming the leading training opportunity for pool operators and aquatic facility managers in the United States; they have certified over 20,000 aquatic facility operators in the 22 years of the AFO existence.
This thorough program is specifically designed to meet the needs of those working in public, semi-public, and municipal pool or waterpark facilities, and provides training and information for both supervisory and operations staff.
The AFO certification program is an advanced educational training course that trains and certifies your staff in all aspects of facility operation, including facility management, water testing and treatment, disinfection, design considerations, facility trouble shooting, hot tub and spa operation, and much more. Individuals who obtain the AFO certification are knowledgeable in the systematic approach to pool operations, including pool chemistry, management, pool safety and risk reduction. Ensure that your facility is up-to-date in this important area and register today.
