As announced earlier, NIRSA will conduct elections this year to fill the roles of President-Elect and At-Large Director on the NIRSA Board of Directors, as well as the National Student Leader, Regional Student Leaders for all Regions, and Regional Representatives from Regions II, IV, and VI for the NIRSA Member Network.
The NIRSA Board of Directors is focused on the “big picture” of the Association; they are responsible for providing the visionary leadership and strategic direction for NIRSA. The NIRSA Member Network, made up of 13 elected and two appointed members, serves, along with the rest of the Regional Leadership Team, as the link between NIRSA members and NIRSA volunteer leaders. Focusing on outreach and connection, the Member Network is charged with overseeing member engagement and supporting local opportunities for members to engage with NIRSA.
NIRSA’s strength is rooted in robust member involvement.
If you know a NIRSA member who would be an excellent fit for one of these roles, please consider making a recommendation to the Nominations & Appointments Committee by emailing the individual’s name and institution by Friday, September 20, 2013. Recommended individuals will be contacted by the Nominations & Appointment Committee to explore their interest and further discuss the application process.
If you yourself are interested in serving in one of these positions, the Nominations and Appointments Committee has greatly simplified the application processes. Members interested in standing for election simply begin the process by submitting a résumé and a letter of application that details their qualifications for the position by Monday, September 30, 2013.
