One of the biggest draws for any conference is the keynote speaker, whose job it is to capstone an energetic and jam-packed few days of educational sessions and networking fun; the 2014 NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo in Nashville, Tennessee will be no exception.

Tony Clements, one of NIRSA’s favorite presenters, will be the keynote speaker for Closing General Session.

On April 26, Clements will use concepts developed and honed over years in the field of collegiate recreation and present a call to action to NIRSA Members.

Tony Clements has been an active NIRSA member for 40 years.

Clements has been an active NIRSA member for 40 years, serving as President of the Association in 1989, and recipient of numerous NIRSA service awards, including NIRSA’s highest distinction, the Honor Award, in 1996. Since 1973, Clements has presented at NIRSA sponsored events on over 50 occasions, most recently presenting the educational sessions: “What Would Steve Jobs Do? A Collegiate Recreation Perspective: Parts 1 & 2,” “Recreational Sports Reconsidered: Our Future by Design,” and “Humor: A Career Builder.”

With his combination of experience, humor, and rec-sports-zest, Clements’ keynote is sure to be an attendee favorite as we return to our NIRSA roots and come together to “harmonize our values.”

*Update, September 25, 2013: To accommodate for additional program planning, registration for NIRSA 2014 will open in early November. Early bird registration rates continue until March 12, 2014.
