The updated Facility Construction and Renovation Report is now available!
In the fall of 2012, NIRSA surveyed its Institutional Member about capital projects that are planned or in-progress over the next five years (2013 through 2018).
The Executive Summary highlights essential details about facility construction trends from a national perspective.
Among the 670 institutions, 92 reported plans for construction or renovation (14%).
Another 50 institutions reported no plans for construction or renovation, despite the a reported need for new facilities on their campuses (7.5%).
Among the 92 institutions reporting plans for construction or renovation, there are 157 projects in progress, representing more than $1.7 billion in capital projects.
Just over half (55%) of the projects are new construction and 45% are renovations to existing facilities.
