As a new member, you are automatically a member of the main NIRSA Discussions group as well as your regional group, but there are lots of smaller, more focused groups that you can join.

When you log into connect.nirsa.org, click on the Communities drop down, and select All Communities to see all of the active communities on Connect.

New roundtables are being added all the time. Take a look at upcoming opportunities and register for one today!

Whether you’re just starting out in the field or if you’ve been around for awhile, NIRSA’s mentor program is a great way to learn from other members.

Submit an application, and we’ll match you with a mentor or mentee and help facilitate discussion between the two of you.

As a member you have free access to CAS (The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education).

Assessment is an important part of any programming, and the Collegiate Recreation Programs section of CAS provides all the tools you need to measure the success of your department.

You can also join the CAS Standards User Community in Connect for real-time support from other members who are also using the tool.

Each fall, we give you an opportunity to apply for up to three committees.

These committees range in workload and responsibility, and can range from a few months to a year or more. Visit the volunteer opportunities page to get an idea of what kinds of opportunities we provide, and if it’s application season, you can find information on how to apply there as well.
