Access NIRSA Connect
Have a burning question or want to see what others are talking about? Want to find a member? You can access NIRSA Connect right away!
You may not have burning questions for other members, but a quick scan of NIRSA Connect shows that lots of young professionals and new members do! Taking a few minutes to share your expertise with others is a low-lift way to help grow someone else’s knowledge. And you may find some interesting new ideas shared by someone else while you’re there!
Register for a Virtual Roundtable
If you’ve ever wanted to present a session at a NIRSA event but you aren’t sure if you’re ready, one great way to ease into it is to facilitate an Ideas in Motion roundtable. Take a few minutes to put together a set of questions, prepare a few answers from your perspective, and you can be the center of the knowledge-sharing space for an hour!
Aren’t quite ready for facilitating either? Dip a toe into the water by turning on your camera and talking about your experiences — become an active participant!

Fill out the Salary Survey, or the Institutional Data Set on behalf of your institution, and you can download reports comparing your department with others.
If you or someone on your staff are planning to conduct a research project whose results may be a benefit to other institutions, make sure to learn more about our research grant program here [link].

How to access CAS
Assessment is an important part of any programming, and the Collegiate Recreation Programs section of CAS (The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education) provides all the tools you need to measure the success of your department. As a member you have free access to CAS.
You can also join the CAS Standards User Community in Connect for real-time support from other members who are also using the tool.
Become a Leader in Collegiate Recreation
Become a member of a committee
Each fall, we give you an opportunity to apply for up to three committees.
These committees range in workload, responsibility, and timeframe, from a few months to a year or more. Visit the volunteer opportunities page to get an idea of what opportunities are available, and if it’s application season, you can find application links there as well.
