Here’s how it works
Register for the Virtual Career Development Week
Sign up for individual sessions, using the exclusive Detailed Schedule link you’ll receive in your confirmation email.
Mock interviews and resume/cover letter reviews: upload your resume and cover letter to Google (or some other online collaboration software), fill out the form linked within your confirmation email and pick a time slot. Your interviewer/reviewer will be in touch with a Zoom link, no fewer than 24 hours before your time slot.
Webinars, Talk to a Pro/GA and employer informational sessions: on the Detailed Schedule page, click on the link next to each session you’re interested in to sign up and add the session to your calendar.
But what are all these Career Week offerings? How do THEY work?
Career-building webinars: attend virtual sessions on a variety of career-building subjects, including how to navigate the job search and hiring process, interviewing skills, and moving up the career ladder.
Mock interviews: 1:1 video chats between you and your interviewer, where they’ll ask you some interview questions and give you real-time feedback about your answers.
Résumé/cover letter reviews: you and your reviewer will connect via video chat to look at your resume and cover letter together, and they’ll give you suggestions to improve.
Talk to a Pro/Talk to a GA: join a roundtable-style Q&A with a professional or graduate assistant, where you can ask how they got where they are, and how you can do the same.
Employer informational sessions: sit in on a virtual session with a representative from an institution or company who are currently (or will soon be) recruiting for employees, where you can learn what it’s like to work there and what you need in order to apply.
