welcome, volunteers
This is a team effort
Volunteers like you help to make the conference better every year.
The NIRSA Annual Conference & Campus Rec & Wellness Expo is enriched in no small part through the generous contributions of the time and talent of our amazing membership. The benefits of volunteering are familiar to returning volunteers; but if you’ve never offered your service at the NIRSA Annual Conference, you might be surprised to learn that your own conference experience will be enriched as much as all the people you serve.

A moderator who actively leads the roundtable session at the conference, potentially with the assistance of other members facilitating discussion in smaller groups within the session.
A recorder who takes notes of key discussion points during the roundtable to distribute to members after the conference via the NIRSA web site and related Community of Practice online resource pages.
Complete the Roundtable Staff Interest Form to indicate your interest and to be alerted when the formal application for roundtable positions becomes available this fall.
Career Services Center Volunteers
Some volunteers are charged with greeting candidates and employers, answering questions, and ensuring a smooth Career Services Center operation. Others help monitor computer usage or assist with employer mailboxes by placing information from candidates, such as resumes and correspondence letters, in mailboxes. Or you may be asked to assist in providing resume and mock interview help.Education Table Staff
Serving at the Education Table can be a fun opportunity to support presenters, and help attendees navigate conference. Table staff help answer questions from presenters and attendees about the education schedule. At the beginning of each education block, they conduct a walkthrough of all session rooms to ensure the presenters have arrived and alert conference staff to any issues—such as presenter no-shows, or AV challenges. Volunteers will also be asked to assist in room counts once sessions have started. For members who may have an interest in serving on the Conference Program Committee at some point, this provides a good glimpse into the work of this committee. We ask volunteers download the event app prior to arriving on site so you are familiar with where conference information is located.
