Earning CEUs at NIRSA 2019
NIRSA 2019 will offer twelve educational blocks during core conference days (Sunday-Tuesday), offering attendees the opportunity to earn up to 1.2 NIRSA CEUs to apply towards the Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professional (RCRSP) designation. Attendees may earn more by attending a preconference workshop.
Education programs that have approved for NIRSA CEU values will be identified in the printed program guide and the event’s Guidebook app.
No. At this time (January 2019), NIRSA 2019 is not a preapproved provider of any other CEUs except for NIRSA CEUs. That means if you are an ACE/ACSM/AFAA/NASM credential holder, at this time, NIRSA is currently not providing sessions that have been pre-approved for those organization’s CEUs.
If this status changes by the time the conference date approaches, this area of the website will be updated with additional information, and any CEU values beyond NIRSA CEUs will be posted in the event app.
RCRSPs are required to track their own attendance at sessions. To assist you in doing so, NIRSA 2019 will issue courtesy transcripts to those who request one by completing a session evaluation. To receive a courtesy transcript, you must include your name and email when prompted at the end of each session evaluation. A transcript of your attendance will be sent to you within 6 weeks after the event for you to keep for your files.
- To renew their credential, RCRSP designation holders must earn 4.5 CEUs within three years. They must submit a list of qualifying education activities with their renewal application. It is the intention of the transcript to help you with your recordkeeping, but NIRSA does not maintain this information for you nor does NIRSA track RCRSP designation holders’ attendance at events.
- For more information about earning and maintaining your RCRSP credential, please refer to the RCRSP Handbook which can be accessed on the Registry website.
