All Conference Social

Monday, April 4 | 8:30pm–1:00am

PLAEJoin your NIRSA friends for the All Conference Social at i-Drive 360 in Orlando. NIRSA attendees will have free access to Madame Tussauds Orlando, SEA LIFE Aquarium Orlando, and the Orlando Eye, a 400-foot observation wheel providing a spectacular view of the city.

A lush courtyard will provide plenty of space for dancing to the DJ, networking with colleagues new and old, and a great view of the $1.5 million water show set to music and color-changing lights. If this isn’t enough fun for you, enjoy no cover charge at the surrounding nightclubs like Tin Roof Orlando and the Cowgirls Rockbar Orlando.

Transportation between the Gaylord Palms and the social will be provided throughout the evening. A robust display of appetizers and nonalcoholic drinks will be provided.

Take a Student to Lunch

Monday, April 4 | 11:30pm–1:00pm

Take a Student to Lunch is a wonderful opportunity for student members to sit down with great minds and mentors in the Association. Immediately after the Student Member Connection Meeting, interested students and professionals should gather outside the ballroom where the Student Leadership Team will help match students up with professionals who will treat them to lunch. Grab-and-go lunch options will be available for purchase directly outside the Expo Hall.

Lee Wasson People of Color Social

Monday, April 4 | 7:00pm–9:00pm

PLAETake this opportunity to celebrate the powerful accomplishments of NIRSA members with respect to the Emerging Recreational Sports Leaders Conference, the HBCU Summit, the Founders Endowed Scholarship, and the Juliette Moore Distinguished Leadership Award.

Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be served, and all NIRSA members and guests are welcome to attend.

LGBTQ & Friends Social

Tuesday, April 5 | 6:30pm–8:30pm

PLAEAn annual favorite, the LGBTQ & Friends Social fosters and encourages the involvement of LGBTQ individuals and allies in the Association.

We’ll also recognize the 2015 recipients of the Fredrick R. Braden Scholarship for Social Justice in Collegiate Recreation.

Join us as we support inclusion and diversity within NIRSA.

Independent Socials

Independent socials are an important part of the NIRSA Annual Conference & Recreational Sports Expo experience. These exciting socials provide attendees with great opportunities to network in smaller groups.

NIRSA regions, states, vendors, and individual institutions have all hosted exciting independent socials at past NIRSA Annual Conferences. And so we invite you to consider hosting an independent social at NIRSA 2016 where the Kissimmee, Celebration, and Orlando area provide abundant options! The evening of Tuesday, April 5 is an ideal time to host or attend an independent social.

If you’re interested in planning an independent social, or would like assistance with recommended venues, please contact NIRSA’s Sierra Smith.
